I watched this with a friend and neither of us liked it. In fact, we never finished it. The exploration of sexuality, repression of sexuality and harm that can come from it would've been more interesting if it wasn't trivialized. Yes, some of the characters use religion, more specifically Christianity as a shield to deflect some of their wrongdoings in a way but I wish that also was expanded upon more. It's interesting but the amount of sexual assualt was something I couldn't get passed. |

This movie is a lot of fun and absolutely took some of the criticisms of the last movie into consideration. For starters, they added a section that us reminescent of the game play closer to the end of the movie that uses the mechanics from the game. I also enjoyed seeing Abby attempt to make friends before deciding to "fix" the animatronics from the last movie. Wasn't much of a fan of Charlotte being potrayed as evil in this one but it does make sense since they are going off Vannessa's character a bit from Security Breach. All in all, a very fun movie that I have seen 3 times now. |

Where do I begin with this movie? Even now, it's one of my all time favorite animated movies. The animation is so beautiful and seeing Tetsuo transform into an unstoppable being thats consumed but straight up flesh is so cool. It's interesting that the movie starts out showing biker gangs, to police brutality and and societal changes due to the in universe world war and coming back around to explain the aged children. Even now, I still need to read the mangas since the movie is so hard to explain without the extra context surrounding the aged kids or how the kids got their powers to begin with and the plot twist of what happened to Akira was done so well, I didn't see it coming. |

A movie shot within a movie that shows the production behind the movie within the movie is the best way I can describe this. The first 40 minutes shows the movie which is done entirely in one cut with everything after showing the movie being conceptualized in universe, the casting and eventually the filming of the movie in the movie. I really like this movie with just how confusing it is at the beginning before getting that context. I watched this movie with a group of friends towards the end of 2024 and it's just so memorable in its execution and stripped back acting at times. Highly recommend this one! |

I decided to watch this movie after realizing that one of my favorite albums "To See the Next Part of the Dream" by Parannoul is heavily inspired by this movie as well as Phillia995's influential site. Like some of the movies here, I watched this with a friend. I love the juxtaposition of classical music and Lily Chou Chou's music and the downright illigal things these kids do. Their actions really makes it easy to forget that the movie ends with them being 14. Yuichi is the best example of a complete bystander since he lets so must slide like the fact that one of his classmates is being pimped out by his friend. Though what he does at the end does give a little bit of justice to some of the characters, it's far too late. A bleak film with a light ending and is another film I recommend heavily. |

Saiko: The Large Family is a Japanese mockumentary surrounding a large family of 12 with Veronica being our guide. This movie is so interesting because Veronica acts like a tourist within the household; she doesn't help set the tables for meals, she doesn't ask more important questions regarding the family, she's kind of absent to what's going on around her and that makes the horror more effective. The scene where one of the sons was questioned about what he was studying, he overheard his mom talking about "physical health" and decides to study more in this field. It's revealed that what she was actually talking about is her taking a life insurance policy on her exhusband. A lot of things take place in the background and is very rewarding when it's being picked up. |

My fellow Rangettes! Honestly this is such a fun movie and it's such a vibe. I watched this with some friends in discord back in 2024 and it caused a large amount of us to change our profile pics and names to Rango. Rango is a famous chameleon who is accidently left behind in the desert. The majority if the civilians in this town are lizards who can withstand the weather better than Rango himself. In order for him to assimilate into their society, he assumes the identity of a cowboy and "successfully" takes on this role. At some point, the water supply deminishes and it is Rango's responsibility to help find more after accidently defeating the communities known predator: the hawk. Again, this is such a fun movie that deserves a watch at least once. |
