Like stated before, Raymond's looks are different depending on the year. When I first created him, he looked like this:
This initial design was created sometime in 2018. There isn't much to say about this version since it didn't last that long, sadly. From what I remember, he was a 19 year old sex worker who needed to pay for college. Completely different from what he would end up becoming in the near future. He was also 5'7 (170.2 cm), is a human and has very little in common with the other designs except the name and his jewelry.
The only bad part about this design, honestly, is the fact that I never made an actual color reference. Some of what I did was based off memory of what I showed a friend of mine: thirt being purple and black on the main outfit, his hair being brown, that sort of thing. If any of it was actually different, I wouldn't know since I never colored any of them. I'm not entirely sure where the inspiration for both of these outfits came from. Personally, I believe it must have been lifted from touhou, more specifically Reimu Hakurei's design since the "sleeves" look close to what she has in her design.

This design is where things get a little interesting. Because I never differentiated these 3 designs, I'm putting them all together under the second version. One of these desings, the full body one, is the one i found wearing the second outfit of the first Raymond. Even though that was something I found, these are very much different versions.
This version of Raymond is drastically different compared to the first one. Here, he was kidnapped at an unknown age and was experimented on before breaking out of the facility he was held in. Since there wasn't much documentation in him in universe, his age and full name is a complete mystery though he insisted on being called Raymond. He had selective mutism in this phase as well and never talked about his past.
The second head is basically the first one except he has a birth mark. It doesn't show up again after this drawing but I thought it was interesting to add on here. The bow thats on 2 of the heads are a reference to Rumia from touhou. I used it to nerf Raymond since he was described as being far too powerful for his own good so they used a charm to lock away his abilities. This caused his skin to become gray but the last head is what he would look like without the charm in.

The head with the earring is a bit of a deviation from this. He still is an past experiment but he fully gained his humanity in his own way: through art and fashion. The earrings he's wearing were made out of doll parts and I thought it would be interesting to have him wear those. There isn't any symbolism behind this, I thought it was a fun addition to his character.
This is also when the concept of Doyleys was originally being thought up. Though it isn't up here, this iteration had a transformation that was only used by Doyleys. He had 6 detatched arms and wielded a scythe since the inspiration was angels. It lasted a while too since most of my characters at the time had a weapon that was associated with them. Current day, the associated weapon is a chainsaw just for fun :3
This version completely disregards the majority of the lore of the previous version. Here, he's half Doyley half Human but has most of the traits associated with Doyleys at the time he was created. He was fluent in 2 languages: English and Greek but also spoke a bit of French and German if my memory serves me correct. He was around 5'9 (180cm) during this time and is 17 years old. I kept the freckles since it made an interesting contrast.
At some point in his youth, he was experimented on. Instead of spending the majority of his life in the facility and breaking out, he is experimented on for around 3 years which is why his eyes looks weird here. The right eye has stitches since part of that eye wasn't his, i believe from another human and the green in the left eye is from a Vampire. The dominant eye color for Vampires is green because their eyes are too sensitive to the sun and I thought it was pretty. His third eye didn't form correctly and that's why he keeps it shut.
I think I drew the sleeve incorrectly but it's supposed to go from the wrist to the forearm and not up the arm. Unlike the other verions, its flowers and roots with the flowers being colored in. This version has 5 piercings: 2 on the left ear, 2 on the right ear, and a nose stud. The doll head earring becomes a spherical earring and I don't think I ever elaborated on that change.
At some point between the last one and this version, he ended up with vitiligo. During this time, a lot of creators made original characters with vitiligo and i thought it would be fun to add it too. Like the last one, he has freckles....I know y'all see that fat ass scar. That's a stab wound he got at around 5 years old when he was at the beach. It was an oppertunity killing but since he's very much alive here, it did not work. This is the first version of Raymond that mentions that he is a reincarnation of Timpani though she is called Dohnghola here.
Though he still keeps his third eye closed, its confirmed that the eye color is green :). The stitching on the right eye was removed and the pupil has some manipulation to it since part of that eye is not his. Same goes with the third eye coming from a Vampire.
Half way through this iteration, I decided to make him half black. Though there isn't much to differenciate it, I made the hair a different texture to convey this and made the nose a bit wider.
So far, this iteration has freckles, vitiligo, and the stab wound.
If my memory serves me right, this one is from 2019, just like the previous one. Sadly, this is my least favorite version of him. Personally, i think its the hair that dictates this decision. From 2019 to 2021, I drew and shaded using large circular motions, which i kept in this remdition. I dropped the vitiligo because I felt like it was a bit too much to keep up with and I didn't want to keep the same base design as before. He's a Doyley now too but he wasn't born with a second set of arms like other Doyleys. He was 6'0 (184 cm) and for some reason the stab wound was drawn on the right side instead of the left.
For his features, I made fully commited and made his nose wider and his lips bigger. I also changed his eye shape so he would look a bit more intimidating, though it comes off more cute honestly. I swapped the nose stud for a nose ring since a friend suggested it.
The main thing about this version is that he was dealing with the odd opening that was his third eye. He couldn't open it since it hurt too much and looked "milky" (blind in said eye), until one day he was able to open it and was able to see out of it. He is the first version to deal with body dysmorphia, primarily dealing with his third eye and his scar.
It feels weird calling this one a different era when it most definitely was. This one shares similarities with the current version of him. For starters, he has a full name now: Raymond Magladonia. Technically this name was used in the last iteration but it is 100% used in this version. His height fluxuates between 6'1-6'2 (185cm - 187cm) depending on when the story takes place.
Instead of having the hair be more bubble like, I changed it to be more flowy in a way. His hair is supposed to be closer to 4b-4c instead of 3c like the last version. I also gave him acid burns that ties back to the experimentation since I didn't want to fully abandon the idea. The burns cover the majority of his body, exluding the face since his face was the first to be healed. The sleeve is still there except it covers his right arm, including the elbow since his nerves are messed up. He feels little to no pain depending on where. He had his second set of arms amputated since the researchers believed it would make him more stronger. Though its hard to see, his right eye is showing a bit of pink.
He has 7 piercings: 3 on the left ear, 3 on the right ear and a nose ring. He also has a hear on his right index finger and an energy is eternal tattoo under the left breast. Though it isn't depicted here, he has a 4th eye that is malformed and he's completely blind in since it's damaged.
The eyes are somewhat similar to the other versions except they aren't tied to being experimented on, though that's still here. It's never explained what happened to his eyes but its not the same weirdly enough.
This is the most recent version of Raymond. I don't think it'll change anytime soon. His name gets tweaked a bit, coming Raymond De'Shawn Magladonia, making him one of the few characters I've made who has a middle name. Here he's 19 years old and is 6'3 (190cm), making him above average height for a Doyley.
Though he retains the acid burns, I made them slightly lighter than his natural skin tone so they look fully healed. I made sure some were on his face as well since it looked weird having the burns be everywhere but the face. I made the right eye droop more and hid the tearduct since thats what happens when part of the face gets burned. I retconned the eyes completely by explaining that Raymond and his father was involved in a random acid attack, After being in the hospital for a while, his face began to heal on its own. I used the concept of 2 year olds not really focusing in on their faces as intensely as older people do to make more sense of his physical appearance.
Coming back to the burns, I changed it from being full bodied to the burns being waist up. He does have a few below that but I changed it so it wouldn't be too hard to draw. Also he had a 4th set of arms before the acid attack but they were amputated due to them being heavily damaged. So technically he has 2 arms and 4 shoulders :3
Though this may be seen as an odd change, I did adjust his weight a bit. It's not that evident but I wanted him to have a resting muscular body, if you know what I mean. Mostly because I saw a coworker who'e rediculously tall but isn't slender. Also i thought about that picture that says "the model above is 6ft and is wearing a small" and knew I had to fix it.
He still has 4 eyes, with the 4th one being damaged due to the acid burns. Kinda funny but his hair is around the same length, if not longer than the era before this one. I decided to take account of shrinkage for his hair since I thought it would be more fun to draw that instead :3
